WE ARE THE HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS!
SEE WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE IN MISSION AT TIMBERLAKE
MISSION SPOTLIGHT
The Fillin’ Station (Timberlake’s Food Pantry) welcomes our hungry neighbors. We provide top-quality groceries in a friendly and safe environment. We have drive-through, contact-free distribution on Mondays from 5-6:30 PM – Rain or Shine (except Memorial Day and Labor Day). We do not require appointments, and there is no qualification process to receive The Fillin’ Station food. If you are unable to come to distribution during normal hours, contact the church at 434-239-1348 or email us. We are an authorized USDA distribution point and part of the Feeding America network. Sign-up is optional, takes about five minutes, and can be done on the spot. Guests who qualify for USDA food receive additional food selections.
OUR MISSIONS
Blessings Boxes
The Blessing Box is a free mini food pantry that is available 24/7 for emergency food needs. Blessing boxes feature non-perishable food and personal hygiene items. Our Blessing Boxes are located on the church campus, at the Crossing Point Community Center in Brookneal, at Living Word Ministries in Lynchburg, and at three area mobile home parks. Our Blessing Boxes invite you to "Take what you need and have a blessed day!"
Christmas Blessings
Christmas Blessings' is Timberlake's Christmas mission to provide Christmas for children in need. This mission started within Timberlake to help extend the love of Jesus and excitement of the season to children who may not have much to celebrate without our help.
The Church Has Left the Building
Our annual "Church Has Left The Building" Day where THE CHURCH leaves our building to go out and serve our community and neighbors with projects, delivering meals, handing out bagged lunches, yard work, making quilts, and more!

Food for Area Students
Timberlake provides food bags to four local schools for distribution to students from food-insecure homes. The program has expanded from modest beginnings two years ago, now serving from 75 - 125 students each week. Youth, Adult, and Senior Timberlake teams are actively involved in the program. We partner with Park View Community Mission for this ministry, which greatly increases program capacity for additional students and schools.
The Piecemakers
This group makes quilts and blankets for new babies, missions, and hospital patients. They also have seasonal projects and teach adults how to sew. For more information and how you can be a part of this group, please contact us.
Puerto Rico Missions
Timberlake loves our church neighbors in Puerto Rico! We sent multiple mission teams to San Juan to help with church rebuilding after Hurricane Maria and our relationships with the Emaus UMC and Rio Piedras UMC churches continue to grow. We look forward to longstanding relationships with God's people in Puerto Rico.
The Yarn Connection
This group meets to make prayer shawls, baby blankets, and sweaters for missions. Sponsored by the Grief Ministry. For more information, and to join this group, contact us.
OUR MISSIONS PARTNERS
Interfaith Outreach
Interfaith Outreach Association (IOA) exists to step in during those moments and assist with helping our neighbors in need to navigate during their tough times. They provide programs that give education, guidance, and support, to identify ways out or ways up. They work with individuals and families to assess their needs and connect them with the many resources in our community that can empower them to improve their situation. For more information, contact IOA at 434.846.6098.
Meals on Wheels
Timberlake is one of the wheels behind the meal as a partner with Lynchburg Meals on Wheels. Our volunteers take care of a route at a city apartment complex. The ministry provides balanced, nutritious and hot lunch meals for the frail elderly and younger disabled shut-ins who cannot cook for themselves and may be unable to leave their homes for
meals. What a blessing to the drivers and to their neighbors! Contact us if you are interested in serving!
Parkview Mission
Timberlake helps support Park View Missions. Park View Mission is situated in the mid-town Lynchburg and is a ministry of the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Conference UMC, born of and still operating at Park View UMC. Park View provides help, healing and hope to families and individuals in need by coming alongside them, engaging them in loving relationships and connecting them with life-changing resources. Timberlake serves dinner to Park View Missions. This includes preparing the meal and then serving at Park View Missions starting at 5 PM. Contact us to help serve!
SPIRITUAL ASSESSMENT
It is possible that in sampling various service opportunities, God may use these experiences to help you discover your spiritual gifts. Please pray about where God wants you to serve, learn about that ministry, then volunteer to serve. Click the button to the right to take your spiritual assessment test. If you'd like to learn more about discovering your spiritual gifts, contact Pastor Brad McMullen.
